String Quartet No. 1 - I. Allegro
$20.00 or $50.00 for all three movements |
Movement I (Allegro - Bustling City) of a string quartet written about 9/11. I was not teaching that year and wrote this piece all during 2001 and 2002.
This movement represents NYC before any attacks, bustling and moving along and unaware of future catastrophes. It has a fast, repetitive background with a plaintive melody that is passed around to each instrument. |

String Quartet No. 1 - II. Lento
$20.00 or $50.00 for all three movements |
Movement II (Lento - Lamentation) of a string quartet written about 9/11. I was not teaching that year and wrote this piece all during 2001 and 2002.
The title of this movement says it all. The cello has a sad, lamenting melody while the other instruments seem almost detached and trying to return to reality. |

String Quartet No. 1 - III. Moderato
$20.00 or $50.00 for all three movements |
Movement III (Moderato - Anger and Despair) of a string quartet written about 9/11. I was not teaching that year and wrote this piece all during 2001 and 2002.
At the time it seemed like there was no way out of our situation. This movement reflects the anger and despair felt by many with a moment of respite in the middle. |
